MOVES-Northern Trust unit hires Darek Wojnar in Chicago
Northern Trust Asset Management, a unit of Northern Trust Corp (NTRS), said on Friday it has named Darek Wojnar head of funds and managed accounts. Wojnar, who would be based in Chicago, has most recently worked as the head of exchange-traded funds at Hartford Funds. Northern Trust Asset Management had $192.3 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
Malaysian Airlines flight makes emergency landing in Alice Springs
A Malaysian Airlines flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur was forced to make an emergency landing in remote outback Australia on Thursday after running into "technical difficulties". All 200 or so passengers on MH122 were reported safe after the Airbus A330-300 was diverted to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory after suffering a fault in one engine.

Ex-CIA officer arrested, accused of being mole for China: report
A former Central Intelligence Agency officer has been arrested on suspicion of betraying the agency's informants in China, the New York Times reported late Tuesday. Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 53, was at the center of a mole hunt that began around 2012, the Times said, after more than a dozen informants in China were killed and the CIA's spying operation in China was taken apart. Lee, who left the CIA in 2007 and had been living in Hong Kong, was arrested at JFK Airport and charged in northern Virginia federal court. Prosecutors said Lee had written down the real names and phone numbers of CIA informants and undercover agents in China and provided them to the Chinese government. PG&E shares drop on dividend suspension after wildfires
PG&E Corp. shares dropped in the extended session Wednesday after the power company suspended its dividend amid potential liabilities for October's Northern California wildfires. PG&E shares fell 10% to $46.04 after hours. The company said its board will suspend the dividend beginning in the fourth quarter. PG&E last paid out a dividend of 53 cents a share for the third quarter.
