    Johnson Controls boosts stock buyback program by $1 billion

    Johnson Controls International PLC said Thursday it has approved a $1 billion increase to its stock repurchase program. The diversified industrial technologies company said it had $200 million remaining in its previous share buyback program. The announcement comes a day after the company raised its quarterly dividend by 4%. The stock gained 0.8% in morning trade.     Johnson Controls raises dividend 4%

    Johnson Controls International PLC said Wednesday it will raise its quarterly cash dividend by 4% to 26 cents a share, from 25 cents a share. The new dividend will be payable Jan. 12 to shareholders of record on Dec. 18. At Tuesday's stock closing price of $37.13, the new annual dividend rate implies a dividend yield of 2.80%, compared with the implied yield for the S&P 500 of 1.91%. The said it has paid a consecutive dividend since 1887.     Johnson Controls announced that its exacqVision video management system now integrates with Databuoy Corp.’s ShotPoint acoustic gunshot detection and localisation system to speed response time and heighten the decision-making process for local responders during active shooter situations. Indoor And Outdoor Gunfire ShotPoint is an automated sensor-based system that reliably detects indoor and outdoor gunfire. Through the integration of ShotPoint’s camera cueing feature and exacqVision’s web client, designated responders are able to observe and react to a situation as it unfolds. Both an initial retrieved JPEG image and a video clip are made available based on exacq camera IDs within the shot zone.
